I am impressed that a product 11 years old still works and has current drivers available. I had one for years but a Tampa storm zapped it right through the surge protection. It uses a PCI interface. The M-Audio Audiophile is an all-in-one high fidelity soundcard solution for a wide variety of applications, ranging from multi-track recording to computer-based home theatre. This particular sound card works well in “somewhat older” PCs.

Input into the card for digitizing an lp played on a turntable gives an excellent recording. This card was designed to be plugged into a mixing board or a preamp for your inputs and studio monitors for the output.

However, you can always find a pc out there that supports standard PCI an still get wonderful performance at a lessor pc cost. Windows 7 64bit takes a lot longer to boot when the is in the PCI slot.

Installation was a breeze. Much less noisy than on-board sound system, particularly for recording line-in signals.

If you’ve got that, excellent. Its a stereo card,so you have to mix down to 2 channels before going into the card. Highly recommended for any older computer recording system mine is auxiophile Windows XP.
